Men’s basketball loses to Trinity in NESCAC Championship, earns at-large bid in NCAA Tournament

Last weekend, men’s basketball (21-6, 9-1 NESCAC) defeated the sixth-seeded Amherst Mammoths (15- 11, 5-5 NESCAC) on Feb. 24. However, the Ephs faced a nail-biting loss against the second-seeded Trinity Bantams (26-1, 9-1 NESCAC) in the NESCAC Championship game on Feb. 25.

Women’s swim and dive secures NESCAC Championship title

Women’s swim and dive (7-0, 4-0 NESCAC) took first place at the NESCAC Championship last weekend, which was hosted at the Middlebury College Natatorium. Following an undefeated season and a historic Div. III dual meet streak of 135 wins, the four-day championship meet was the icing on the cake for the team. The win marks the team’s 20th title in program history.

Men’s skiing overcomes turbulent weather, tough competition at Winter Carnival

Men’s skiing hosted a home carnival last weekend, competing with 13 other teams at the College’s home alpine ski course, Jiminy Peak. The weather conditions and the strength of the competition proved difficult, but the Ephs fought hard for a 10th place finish during the two-day event.

Men’s track and field flourished at two meets over the weekend, with many of the Ephs heading to Boston for the 2024 Boston University (BU) David Hemery Valentine Invitational and a smaller group heading to the Dartmouth Tune-Up Meet last Saturday.

Women’s track and field competed at the Boston University (BU) David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Dartmouth Tune-Up on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10. Many of the Ephs hit their personal best times of the season and qualified for the upcoming Div. III New England Championship during both meets.

Men’s ice hockey splits doubleheader with Middlebury

The Ephs skated onto Middlebury’s rink on Friday night with confidence, coming off the heels of a second 5-3 win against Wesleyan (5-16-1, 3-12-1 NESCAC) this season. As the end of the regular season draws to a close, the team, currently ranked ninth in the NESCAC, hopes to move into the top eight and secure a spot in the NESCAC Tournament.

Men’s basketball sweeps weekend in buzzer-beater victory over Trinity, senior day win over Wesleyan

Men’s basketball (18-5, 8-1 NESCAC) picked up two home victories over the weekend, ascending to first place in the NESCAC. On Friday, the Ephs took down the No. 4 Trinity Bantams (21-1, 7-1 NESCAC) in a 55-54 buzzer-beater victory to end the Bantams’ undefeated season. On Saturday, the Ephs triumphed 76-65 over the Wesleyan Cardinals (12-10, 3-5 NESCAC) in a senior day game, securing the Little Three Co-Championship title.

Winter Study IM basketball league encourages camaraderie, drive

Throughout the month of January, Chandler Gymnasium was dominated not by the men’s and women’s varsity basketball teams, but by athletes from other varsity teams and non-athletes alike competing for the venerated black, purple, and gold “INTRAMURAL CHAMPIONS” t-shirts and — most importantly — pride.
