7:34 a.m. Faculty Club: Officers responded to an intrusion alarm caused by a contractor who did not know the system was armed. The Dining staff arrived and would remain on site while the contractor was in the building.

7:40 p.m. Sawyer Library: Officers responded to the second floor of Special Collections for a glass break alarm from an upper window, but found all windows closed and intact and the panel not in alarm. Dispatch contacted the head of Special Collections and found that the alarm had been activated accidentally.

10:29 a.m. Mission Park: Officers responded to a fire alarm ringing and found two masonry contractors sawing cylinder blocks. The resulting dust set off the fire detector, which was reset when the contractors completed their work.

Tuesday 3-9-21 1:14 p.m. Paresky: An officer responded to the basement kitchen for a report of an employee who had injured their back lifting a box and was experiencing severe pain. Northern Berkshire Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived, evaluated the employee, and transported the employee to Berkshire Medical Center in North Adams.

Monday 2-15-21 12:36 p.m.: An officer helped a student move into quarantine housing by retrieving quarantine housing keys and room assignments from the Office of Campus Life (OCL). The officer then met the student and a Northern Berkshire Transport (NBT) driver on Hopkins Drive and led them to the temporary quarantine room.

Sunday 2-7-21 7:01 p.m.: Campus Safety and Security (CSS) responded to an activated fire alarm from an off-campus faculty residence. The Williamstown Fire Department was contacted for assistance and found the cause to be a small fire in the oven. The officers did not find damage and provided a replacement extinguisher to the residents.

Monday 11-16-20 9:34 a.m., Paresky: Officers responded to the mailroom to investigate a package that smelled like marijuana. Officers took the package and met with the student to whom it was addressed. After the student opened the package and confirmed that the contents included marijuana sent from a friend, Campus Safety and Security (CSS) confiscated the package and secured it in a locked evidence box.
