The College offered admission to 981 applicants on March 20 through the regular decision (RD) process, according to Dean of Admission and Financial Services Liz Creighton ’01. Applicants accepting their offers will join the 258 students admitted through the binding early decision (ED) process and the 14 students who matched with the College through Questbridge as members of the Class of 2030.
This year, the College received a record-breaking 15,534 regular decision applications, an increase of over 1,000 from last year.
The Record calculated a combined ED and RD acceptance rate of 7.4 percent for the 2025-26 admissions cycle, the lowest acceptance rate ever recorded at the College. The regular decision acceptance rate was 6.3 percent, another record low.
In total, the College offered admission to 1,239 students through RD and ED, a decrease of 74 students from last year. The target size for the incoming first-year class remained constant in comparison to last year, at 560 students. The previous record low acceptance rate of 7.5 percent occurred during the 2023-2024 cycle, with a smaller target class size of 550.
In addition to the 981 applicants accepted on Friday, the College waitlisted 2,138 students and denied admission to 12,395. During the 2024-25 cycle, 25 students were admitted after being placed on a waitlist, according to the College’s Common Data Set.
Admitted students have been invited to attend Williams Previews, which will take place on April 19 and 20. “We’re absolutely thrilled about the remarkable students we were able to admit during this cycle and look forward to meeting many of them,” Creighton wrote in an email to the Record.
Students have until May 1 to respond to their offers of admission.
