Monday 10-18-99

3:30 p.m. Fire alarm from Williams Hall. Cause was burnt popcorn.

11:00 p.m. Noise complaint from Pratt. Officer had a loud stereo turned down.

Wednesday 10-20-99

7:59 a.m. Ammonia leak alarm from Chapman Rink. Officers responded and found exterior warning lights activated. Steamfitters advised. Steamfitter foreman reports a man down in the mechanical room. 911 activated for Williamstown Fire Department, Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Units and Village Ambulance. All local, state and college Hazmat Response procedures implemented. This was a drill simulating actual emergency conditions of a Hazardous Materials release. Simulation lasted until after noon.

1:30 p.m. Minor motor vehicle accident on Chapin Drive.

Thursday 10-21-99

12:33 a.m. Intrusion from Miller House. A student was still inside when the system was armed.

5:39 a.m. Unidentified odor reported in Bronfman area. It was determined the odor was coming from the construction site.

9:32 p.m. Loud stereo complaint from Dodd Annex. Officer turned off stereo left on in an unoccupied room per request of neighbor.

10:45 p.m. Suspicious person sitting in a car near Baxter reported. Officers swept area but car must have left area.

Friday 10-22-99

2:47 a.m. Suspicious vehicle leaving MP lot at high rate of speed. Owner identified through plate number.

11:00 a.m. Call to assist an injured student at Sage. Student had already been taken to Health Center.

3:00 p.m. Assisted WPD with traffic after an accident on Meacham St. and Latham St.

4:40 p.m. Report of four non-Williams youths hanging around Tyler. Officer spoke with them asked them to move along from the area.

Saturday 10-23-99

2:20 p.m. Call from a local towing service concerning a tow request they have Cole Field for a car stuck in the mud.

9:15 p.m. Fire alarm from Mission Park. Caused by hair dryer in Pratt.

Sunday 10-24-99

12:15 a.m. Disturbance call of arguing/fighting during scheduled event at Tyler House.

4:17 a.m. Disturbance call concerning someone pounding on a door in Thompson.

12:08 p.m. Complaint of a Yale water polo player, who was ejected from play, “mooning” the other teams and spectator gallery.

3:55 p.m. Damage/vandalism reported to Brooks Exit sign.

7:49 p.m. Car observed driving at excessive speed and running stop sign at Lynde Lane and Stetson Rd. Student driver identified and issued citation.
