Goodrich reopens for mobile ordering, faces influx of student demand

Goodrich, the popular student-run coffee bar, has reopened for takeout orders during the first three weekends of May after being closed since the pandemic began. Demand for the Goodrich offerings was so high that on the coffee bar’s second day back in business — Sunday, May 2 — the online ordering software crashed.
Similar to last year, prospective first-years will not be able to visit in person this spring. Instead, Virtual Previews will be held on April 16 and 17. (Ella Marx/The Williams Record)

College acceptance rate lowers to 8 percent for Class of 2025

The College admitted 1,000 students out of nearly 12,500 first-year applications to the Class of 2025, a significant decrease from the roughly 1,250 students accepted into the Class of 2024. The is approximately 8 percent this year.

College completes environmentally conscious renovations on Fort Bradshaw

After two years of construction, Fort Bradshaw, a dorm for art history graduate students, has completed renovations to be one of the College’s most environmentally sustainable buildings. This is the first time since the College acquired it in the 1960s from the then-fading Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity that the building has undergone major changes.

College adjusts to changes in Title IX regulations that narrow definition of sexual harassment

In light of recent federal Title IX changes, the College held a Zoom session on Oct. 21, led by Assistant Vice President for Institutional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Title IX Coordinator Toya Camacho, to spread information on how these changes might affect those who wish to report sexual assault. The changes were first announced by the U.S. Department of Education on May 6 and took effect on Aug. 14. According to Camacho, it was the first time in 19 years that major revisions had been made to Title IX regulations.
