Monday 9-17-18
11 p.m. Hopkins Hall: A student came into Campus Safety and Security (CSS) to make a statement that someone had broken into their car while it was parked in Thompson Lot.
Wednesday 9-19-18
8:14 a.m. Fitness Center: Officers responded to a report of a student with a dislocated shoulder. Northern Berkshire Emergency Medical Services also responded. The student was transported to the hospital.
11:05 a.m. Williams Hall: A report was made of stolen signs that had been taken during the first-year move in process. The signs were confiscated.
12:31 p.m. Thompson Biology Lab: The Science Center’s manager and safety officer reported a student injury in a biology lab. The student was taken to the Health Center and was subsequently transported to the hospital for stitches.
7:40 p.m. Spring Street: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle driving down the street using a megaphone and shouting obscenities. Dispatch also notified the Williamstown Police Department (WPD). Officers swept of the area and did not find the vehicle.
Thursday 9-20-18
8:25 a.m. Facilities staff informed CSS of a tradesperson who had entered a confined space at the heating plant and had not responded to communication attempts. 9-1-1 was activated for Williamstown Police, Fire and Emergency Services. The worker emerged safely and was not aware of attempts to communicate with him or rescue services responding to the scene. Once the worker was deemed safe and well, everyone cleared the area.
Friday 9-21-18
9:08 a.m. Main Street: A student walked out into the crosswalk and was struck by the passenger-side mirror of a vehicle. 9-1-1 was activated for Northern Berkshire Emergency Medical Services and the WPD to respond to the location for a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle.
4:17 p.m. Hopkins Hall: A student reported a missing bike from Dodd House last seen in May. The student said that the bike was not registered, and he was not sure if he locked the bike up when he left campus. A stolen article report was faxed to the WPD.
8:43 p.m. Upper Chapel Lot: An officer reported a suspicious situation concerning an unattended vehicle with open doors and trunk. The WPD was called. The owner of the vehicle was identified as a student from another college. A search for the owner ensued for some time before the visiting student and their host came into CSS.
Saturday 9-22-18
12:47 a.m. Greylock Quad: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated student outside Gladden House. Upon arrival, officers asked for 9-1-1 to be activated. The student was transported to Berkshire Medical Center North.
Sunday 9-23-18
7:26 a.m. Lasell Gym: A smoke detector outside the main entrance to the third floor Fitness Center was activated. There was no apparent cause for the alarm. The system was reset.
