Sunday 4-19-20

1:30 p.m. Sawyer Library: Officers responded to an intrusion alarm.  They found a staff member from the Office for Information Technology (OIT) working who did not realize the building was armed.

Monday 4-20-20

4:41 p.m. Cole Field: Officers responded to a report of several groups using the athletic fields.  All groups were informed that the athletic fields were closed due to COVID-19 concerns, and everyone departed without incident.

6:22 p.m. Southworth Schoolhouse: Officers responded to a code one fire alarm. The cause of the alarm was a resident cooking. The area was ventilated and the fire system was reset.

Wednesday 4-22-20

4:28 p.m. Center for Development Economics Residence Hall: Officers responded to an activation alarm on the fire system.  Officers found everything in normal working order.

Thursday 4-23-20

6:41 p.m. Greylock Quad: A facilities staff member reported finding a stray dog with no tags. The dog was friendly and under his control. The Williamstown Police Department (WPD) was contacted for assistance. WPD brought the dog back to their station to wait for their owner.

Friday 4-24-20

5:48 p.m. Cole Field House: Officers responded to a report of an odor of gas and a hissing sound. Officers checked the gas meter and around the building and detected no gas odor. No further action was taken at this time.

Saturday 4-25-20

7:48 p.m. Children’s Center: Officers found an open door at the Children’s Center and were unable to secure it. Architectural trades was called to fix the lock and secure the door.

2:11 p.m. Cole Field House: Officers responded to another report of an odor of gas and a hissing sound. Officers could not find the source of the smell; Berkshire Gas was contacted to respond and check the area as well. Berkshire Gas checked the area and the gas meter and found no issues. The odor probably came from a release valve that is on all gas meters.
