Campus Safety

Monday 11-5-18

7:30 a.m., Fayerweather Hall: The parent of a student called stating she had been unable to contact the student for about a week. She asked officers to do a welfare check on the student and have them call her.

7:38 a.m., Chandler Pool: A student with an injured foot requested transport to the hospital. Northern Berkshire Emergency Medical Services was dispatched. An athletic staff member transported the student. 

8:07 a.m., The Log: An officer responded to an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival the door was ajar. Officers checked the building and no one was inside. Officers rearmed and secured the door. 

8:37 a.m., Agard House: Custodial services reported a broken window in the living room. The damage was documented.

10:33 a.m., Gladden House: The Housing Coordinator reported a broken glass door. Upon arrival, a custodian also reported a smashed mirror. Architectural trades was notified about both damaged areas. 

5:03 p.m., Paresky Center: A student with an ankle injury was transported to the Health Center. 

6:29 p.m., Chandler Gym: A student with an injured chin was transported to Berkshire Medical Center (BMC).

6:50 p.m., Doughty House: A fire alarm was reported. The panel reported trouble in the laundry room. Upon opening the door, the room was extremely hot. The dryer was unplugged and a “do not use” sign was placed on the machine. A work order was submitted for the repair.

Tuesday 11-6-18

8:30 a.m., Cole Field: An officer was approached by a local resident who reported that, while walking his German shepherd on a leash, another German shepherd that was not on a leash bit his dog on the neck. 

6:31 p.m., Williams College Museum of Art: Officers responded to an intrusion alarm. There were several midterm exams being held in Lawrence Hall, and students standing on the stairs likely caused the alarm. The alarm was reset, and the building was rearmed upon departure.  

Wednesday 11-7-18

4:36 p.m., Hopkins Hall: Officers responded to a report of a student on a ledge. Officers found a  student sitting on the ledge of the fourth floor west balcony with their feet hanging over the edge.  The student was removed from the ledge.

Thursday 11-8-18

5:03 a.m., Horn Hall: Officers responded to evaluate a student complaining of a cough and shortness of breath. Transport to BMC North was arranged. 

Friday 11-9-18

7:48 a.m., Faculty Club: Officers responded to a call for a reported odor of natural gas. Mechanical trades, the Williamstown Fire Department and Berkshire Gas Company were also notified. It was determined that three stove pilots were out and had been relit. 

Saturday 11-10-18

12:20 a.m., Mission Park: Officers responded to a report of a loud party. Officers found four students having an impromptu dance party. After being advised of the complaint, they apologized and promised to keep quiet.

Sunday 11-11-18

1:23 a.m., Mission Park: Officers responded to reports of an unidentified stranger in the building.
