Effective for the next academic year, the College will raise the limit on the number of hours students can work on campus to 20 hours per week from the previous 10 hour limit, convert teaching assistant (TA) jobs to hourly positions, and allow paid residential leadership position holders, including Junior Advisors (JAs), House Coordinators (HCs), and Residential Directors (RDs) to hold other paid on-campus positions.
The College’s Rape and Sexual Assault Network (RASAN) discontinued its 24-hour support hotline, effective Feb. 14. Now, students can receive support regarding sexual violence through anonymous self- scheduled phone appointments with certified RASAN members.
Although the College has yet to announce an official policy on COVID-19 booster shots, several NESCAC peer institutions have started requiring boosters as part of campus-wide vaccine mandates and opening vaccine clinics on campus.
The Williamstown Select Board voted 4-1 on Nov. 18 to retain interim town manager Charlie Blanchard through the end of April while it continues to search for a permanent town manager.
The College’s tax returns for the fiscal year ending in June 2020, after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, show a decrease in charitable giving to organizations in Berkshire County and a lower net return on the endowment than the College’s goal for investment returns.
