EphVentures contend with declining interest from student leaders, funding cuts

The College’s EphVentures programs have seen a decrease in applications for orientation leader positions, according to their student directors. The programs faced a 15 percent budget cut and were shortened by a day in 2023, which leaders said diminished their ability to run the programs effectively.

Men’s and women’s track participated in two meets over the weekend. A small group of runners took the track at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University (BU). The rest of the team competed at the Tufts Stampede.

How does one explain the “Williams Swivel,” Snar, and Mountain Day to friends and family outside of the Purple Bubble? Unique references like these prompted Sarah Ling ’24 and Kazi Raleh ’24 to create The Life of an Eph — a card game released in November 2024 that seeks to capture the nostalgia and memories of Ephs past and present.

College awards tenure to 16 professors

The Board of Trustees approved the promotion of 16 assistant professors to the position of associate professor with tenure at its January meeting. Their new positions go into effect July 1.

Women’s hockey (8-6-1) tied 0-0 against the Colby Mules (9-4-2) on Saturday in regular play and overtime but won a shootout to end the game.

After a mixed season on the court, No. 6 volleyball (13-11, 5-6 NESCAC) ended its run with a 3-0 defeat against No. 1 Colby (24-2, 10-0 NESCAC) on Friday during the semifinals of the NESCAC Tournament.
