The College offered admission to 1,038 applicants on March 21 through the regular decision process, according to Dean of Admission and Student Financial Services Liz Creighton ’01. Applicants who accept their offers will join the Class of 2029, along with the 257 students admitted through the early decision process in December.
This year, the College received 14,261 regular decision applications — 161 more than last year. The Record calculated a total acceptance rate of 8.5 percent for the 2024-2025 admission cycle, including both early and regular decision — a slight increase from last year’s record-low 7.5 percent acceptance rate.
In total, the College offered admission to 1,313 students, an increase of 154 from last year. The target class size will increase to 560 students, from 550 in recent years. The increase in the planned first-year class size follows the College’s announcement in December that it would change which dorms were attached to the Class of 2029 as part of an effort to increase first-year housing capacity.
In addition to the 1,038 students accepted on Friday, the College waitlisted 2,194 students and denied admission to 10,329. 18 of the admitted students had previously been deferred from the early decision round.
All admitted students have been invited to Williams Previews, which will take place on April 10 and 11.
Admitted students have until May 1 to respond to their offers of admission.
