coordination

i didn’t go to college, but a couple of my
close friends did. from what i’ve heard,
there’s a lot of scampering and stinginess
and running away from bees and
climbing ladders and doing
ghastly rituals in the chapel at
3 am and tying your shoes and dating
and eating and smelling your armpits
involved. that wouldn’t work for me; i’m a
spirit of coastlines, of arbitration, of
artillery, of boastfulness, of a coy kind of
box to be opened when the fish won’t
float, when the birds catch fire, when the
situation has grown truly and finally dire.
