Monday 11-8-21           

4:04 p.m. Hopkins Hall: Officers responded to meet with a student regarding suspicious Apple AirTag notifications. OIT staff and Williamstown Police were contacted to assist but were unable to locate the device. The student did not feel safe remaining in their room, and the officers provided them with a different room. 

8:12 p.m. Lambert House: Officers responded to a report of animal noises in the wall but did not hear any noises when they arrived. A work order was submitted to have Facilities address the issue.

Tuesday 11-9-21          

11:11 a.m. Frosh Quad: Officers were dispatched to meet a Facilities staff member at Williams Hall E entry regarding an odor of smoke. Officers knocked on the door and spoke with the resident, noting the smoke detector in the room was covered. Officers documented the room and took pictures of the plastic bag over the detector, which was submitted to the Safety and Environmental Office for the violation.

 2:35 p.m. Driscoll Dining Hall: Officers responded to pick up a laptop that had been left there. The laptop was brought to the Campus Safety office and opened to check for a name on the home screen. The home screen identified the owner and they were contacted. The student responded and retrieved the laptop.

10:14 p.m. Frosh Quad: A student in Williams Hall was contacted regarding a prohibited appliance and was advised to drop off the device to the Safety and Environmental Compliance Office.  Compliance was later verified. 

Wednesday 11-10-21        

2:14 a.m. Thompson Parking Lot: While on routine patrol through the parking lot, an officer observed a beer keg in the back/northside of Poker Flats. The keg was located between E and F entries, and there were no markings or tap on it. The officer confiscated the keg.                                                              

11:15 a.m. Dodd House: Facilities reported to Campus Safety that a student was repeatedly burning incense even after the student had been asked to not burn anything in the room. They had picture evidence. An officer spoke with the fire safety inspector in the Safety and Compliance office. The officer and the safety assistant went to the room, took pictures, and confiscated the incense holder.

 9:55 p.m. Morgan Steam Tunnel: Officers were dispatched for a motion detector activation. Upon arrival, officers found that the intrusion panel was activated but could not locate the cause of the alarm. The officer disarmed the intrusion panel and then re-armed the panel.

Thursday 11-11-21        

3:36 p.m. Morgan Hall: Officers responded to a West Tunnel motion alarm. There was no one in the area and the gate was still locked. The officer rearmed the alarm panel and restored the alarm. 

5:21 p.m. Sawyer Library: An officer responded to a glass break alarm.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke with an employee in the Archives who reported they may have caused the alarm. The alarm had already cleared from the panel.

7:23 p.m. Sawyer Library: An officer responded to a door management alarm from the first-floor east exit. They did not find anyone in the area.

Friday 11-12-21        

10:18 a.m. Sawyer Library: An officer responded to a report of a high-pitched sound. The sound appeared to be coming from the north eastern side of the building in a mechanical room.  Mechanical Trades was called and responded, and found that the sound was actually found coming from the mezzanine level of Sawyer and that an air handler was the issue. 

1:08 p.m. Frosh Quad: An officer responded to an emergency phone activation from the Frosh Quad Gate. The officer found the area clear.

Sunday 11-14-21        

4:34 p.m. Morgan Hall: An officer responded to an intrusion alarm at the steam tunnel. No apparent reason was found, and the officer reset the alarm panel.
