Athletes of the Week: Bobby Maimaron and Anna Harleen

Bobby Maimaron ’21
Football
Duxbury, Mass.

Bobby has a natural ability to lead. He has an awesome personality and unwavering courage, and he is the smartest player I have ever coached. His ability to remember fine details is unbelievable and a reflection to how much he cares about Williams football. Hes a fun kid to coach, his teammates love being around him, he loves football and he plays with tremendous passion.

-Offensive coordinator Alex Smith

Maimaron scored all four Williams touchdowns in Saturday’s 31-24 win over Amherst, tying the school record for rushing touchdowns. He totaled 133 yards on 33 carries, and his score in overtime secured football’s first Homecoming win since 2012.

Anna Harleen ’18
Women’s cross country
Ross, Calif.

Anna is a consummate race competitor, always out in good position, working strongly through the middle of the course and no matter what finding a great kick in the final minute or two when her superior milers speed catches many a rival. Moreover, she is a great leader who guides the team on race focus, course strategies and in multiple ways beyond.

Head coach Peter Farwell ’73

Harleen, a tri-captain, ran a 21:36 in the 6k on Saturday at the Div. III New England Regional, finishing 13th. Her kick in the final mile took her past several competitors as the Ephs cruised to a fourth-place team finish.
