To the Editor:
The Friends of Milne Public Library’s 23rd Annual Book Sale was once again an exciting and successful event, raising over $22,000 to benefit the library. Book lovers of all ages gathered for two days of browsing and buying. The effort was huge, involving a community of volunteers, institutions and businesses. The process of moving, setting up and then selling 1300 boxes of approximately 26,000 items could not have been accomplished without the generosity of Williams College, the energy of its students and the support of the whole College community.
Thanks to all who organized, worked, contributed or shopped. It was especially enjoyable to meet and get to know the students who came to or worked at the sale. As one fan said, “What’s not to like … a room full of books and a room full of book lovers?”
