Kudos to Josh Feit ’03 for his wonderful review of Jack’s Hot Dog Stand in last week’s issue. As a boy, I was often regaled by my grandparents with tales of the old Nathan’s in Coney Island; they would spin yarns into the night about nickel frankfurters and dime hamburgers, and I relished each story more than the last. A visit to Jack’s, prompted by the Record review, brought me back in spirit to those halcyon days – I put myself in their place on the boardwalk, enjoying the amply dispensed condiments, participating in the Jewish mafia.
More importantly, it was the only trip to North Adams I’ve ever enjoyed. Thanks again to the Record.
