Baxter Lounge was bouncing Friday night to the first major hip hop event of the season. Organized by and featuring breakdancing crew Sol Ka Fe (above), DJs Jewelz and Jeremy Roth-Kushel (below), Prizm, and other Williams students, the event drew a mix of hip hop devotees and curious passersby. Once the scheduled acts had taken their turn, the dancefloor (left) and mic were open for freestylings of any and all kinds. The high level of student energy and spontaneity lent an unusual and refreshing feel to the evening. As long as the DJs were spinning, the crowd hung around, even if they were a bit intimidated by the dancers with skills and thus declined to get busy themselves.
