Women’s squash falls short against stronger Yale

Despite a valiant effort, the Women’s squash team suffered a setback against a strong Yale squad this past Thursday.

While their intensity and competitive spirit were certainly up to task, the Division I Lady Ephs were unable to capitalize on their strong effort, losing by a final score of 9-0.

The Lady Ephs, ranked eighth nationally last year, are a relatively new team this season. Having lost numerous players to graduation and study abroad programs, the Women’s squash team returns only four of the twelve members from last year’s squad.

Head Coach Julie Greenwood praised her dedicated group of athletes, saying she was “proud of the hard work from the girls and it was a good match,” and that the team is “getting better with each and every match.”

The Lady Ephs will be squaring off against Dartmouth this Wednesday at 7pm, in what Coach Greenwood noted will be an “equally tough match.” The team will also be looking forward to upcoming Williams Invite, set for later this month, and matches against Princeton and Harvard.
